Whatever You Do, Don’t Miss This — April 14 in Matthews, NC!!!

“And he said unto them, Come you yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest awhile: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.”  (Matt. 6:31)

What an incredible year this has been thus far!  I can honestly say that I’ve never enjoyed the ministry more than I do right now!  From seeing lives dramatically changed thru their coming to Christ, to observing the change that comes when God truly revives his people, this has been a banner year–and we’re only two months in.

As enjoyable and fulfilling as is serving the King, there are times when we all need to follow our Savior’s instruction to his disciples to “come…apart…and rest awhile.”  This week has been exactly that kind of time for me and my bride.  We’ve been able to briefly get away for some much needed R and R, focusing our attention on what lies ahead in this very busy year, as well as just spending time with each other and family (Betsy’s sister, mom and dad).

It’s been a delight to spend these days in the cradle of American liberty–San Antonio, Texas.  There are no people quite like Texans!  As my brother says, “When you were a country before you were a state, you understand liberty and it’s cost!”  With that, I completely concur.  In addition to the phenomenal beauty that is San Antonio, this area is rich with history–a history that still today motivates Texans to live free.  I understand why Glen Beck, on his first visit to this state, chose to relocate his entire enterprise here.  Of course, I have an additional motivation for coming here since I married a Texan.

The next nine months will, no doubt, be ones of great import in the collective life of America.  We face a multiplicity of critically important events and choices–the outcome of both the Benghazi  and Hillary Clinton email scandals, both GOP and Democratic primaries, the possible selection of a Supreme Court justice to replace the great Antonin Scalia, and, most importantly, the election of a new president of the United States.  ALL of these demand diligent and dynamic prayer, as they will directly affect the future of our nation, as well as the church of Jesus Christ.

I know I say if frequently, but men of God, NOW is the time for us to speak with great clarity on all topics addressed in the Word of God, especially those issues with which we are so desperately struggling–the future of marriage in America, the state of the church, honesty and integrity in our leaders, the brewing Middle East meltdown, and a host of other issues that demand being addressed from God’s perspective.

One of the upcoming events that I am most excited about is our North Carolina Pastors Network “U-Turn Conference” at Southern Evangelical Seminary in Matthews, NC on April 14.  This event is specifically designed for pastors, ministry leaders and engaged citizens.  You will NEVER attend a conference like this!  You will leave with specific tools for impacting your family, congregation, and city in ways you’ve not had occasion to do EVER!  I promise you, it will profoundly impact your life, ministry, focus for the glory of God and your good!  All that is happening in 2016, as well as that which must be done in response, will be made crystal clear at this intensely insightful one day event!  I URGE you to register NOW to hear our slate of internationally known speakers (David Barton of Wallbuilders, George Barna of Barna Research, Paul Blair of Reclaiming America For Christ, Steve Scheibner, author of “In My Seat-A Pilot’s Story”–the pilot who was supposed to be on one of the doomed 9-11 flights).  These men will be God’s choice instruments to not only challenge us, but to forever change us!  To register for this power-packed conference, whether you are a pastor, ministry leader, or simply a concerned and engaged citizen, go to standinthegapevent.org.  Do so now to procure our early bird savings!
