CHARLOTTE CITY COUNCIL PASSES HISTORIC ORDINANCE, PROMPTS PROMISED ACTION BY NC LEGISLATURE!

Despite having received over 250,000 emails urging them not to do so,
the Charlotte City Council, by a vote of 7 to 4, chose to pass it’s
proposed “bathroom ordinance” last evening.  Over 700 opponents of the
ordinance rallied outside the Charlotte City Council room prior to the
historic vote.

Notable NC pastors and leaders spoke passionately, in the actual Council
meeting, in support of decency and sanity with respect to the use of
restrooms and locker rooms.  Effective April 1, this new ordinance will
allow ANY individual to use the bathroom/locker room of their “perceived
gender.”

A mere two days before last evening’s vote, NC Governor Pat McCrory
issued a statement indicating that swift action from the NC General
Assembly would result, if the Charlotte Council passed this ordinance.
It is certainly my prayer that Governor McCrory will follow through on his
courageous statement–leading the effort to soundly reject this
outrageous decision in Charlotte by passing proactive legislation to
prevent this from ever occurring again in any NC city!
